Rehearsal #1 – Winter Semester

Date: Sunday, January 18
Time: 6:00–7:30 PM
Location: Glenhyrst Gardens (Coach House)

This rehearsal marks the first rehearsal of the winter semester, which will run for 14 weeks.
Please note that we will not rehearse on February 15 due to the Family Day holiday weekend or April 5 due to Easter weekend.

  • 6:15–6:30 PM – Review Playground Suite Movements 3 (Carousel) and 5 (Trampoline).

  • 6:30–7:00 PM – Rehearsal of The Gift of Fire.

  • 7:00–7:30 PM – Sectional rehearsal of new piece Held Fast (score and parts above).

        String crossing from the elbow - oblique string attack - Tone

        6:10–6:50 – Playground Suite review (10 minutes per movement): 

  •       Movement 1: Swing

  •      Movement 3: Carousel

  •      Movement 6: Trampoline

  •      Movement 7: Climbing Frame

        6:50–7:00 – Stretch break
        7:00–7:15 – Gift of Fire

       7:00–7:30 – Alley Cats
      • Begin with the A B C sections 
      • Review overall structure
      • Eliminate “Swing” and rhythm work for this session
