YOUTH PROGRAM

The Guitar Society of Brantford will offer a guitar program for beginner students up to age 16, beginning in September. Conducted in small groups of 3 or 4 students, the program will teach students to read musical notation, play by ear, and perform ensemble repertoire. Students will learn proper body and instrument positioning, finger movement, and interpreting conductor cues.

Students will perform in winter and spring recitals alongside the senior GSB orchestra at the Glenhyrst Gallery of Brant and the Brantford Public Library. Lessons, taught by Director of Ensembles Dr. Patrick Feely, will be 50 minutes long and take place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 6 or 7 pm. The fee will be $25 per child per session.
